Coel has shown Kwame move from one to the other and now hopefully he has found someone he can be more intimate with. Some enjoy that no strings fun, others do it because they feel they are supposed to. The depiction of casual sexual in particular has been well considered, I’ve known men who feel like if they aren’t on Grindr every night then they’re doing ‘gay’ wrong. Often you get writing about gay men and their issues which reflects what straight people think gay life is like but Coel seems to have done her research.
I’ve been quite pleased with the way Kwame has been depicted generally. It was interesting to see her background too and that she was carrying some trauma from when she realised her father was unfaithful. And of course in the end, the only person at fault is the rapist. I’m glad she didn’t kick off at Terry because she’s been so supportive throughout everything when so many others haven’t.
I agree, episode 10 was a return to form. It didn't seem like to me they were a divorced couple. I thought that's what was going to happen.įlashback was interesting in that her mum and dad lived in separate houses but they were never married either. I liked that one a lot.Īrabella finally learnt about Terry and what happened that night. Did it even happen? I'm worried that someone will "dox" her now, though I suppose it would really serve her right if they do. She did have a point about the "Afro-Caribbean" thing though. I would expect to be asked to leave for that. I did learn something new tonight - doxing! And she had an abortion.Īnd she used the "MF" word when she was using her phone in the doctor's consultation. I was glad when she deleted her accounts. People glued to social media i really find quite depressing.
That scene at the start with her Instagramming in the middle of her doctor's consultation was ridiculous and quite frankly pathetic. I agree, some episodes are genius and some like tonight i didn't particularly find too engaging. Maybe it was him? I hope not!Īrabella didn't come across too well tonight. With regards to your spoiler - i don't know why but i got that exact same feeling as well watching tonight's ep and that particular scene.
